Watch the Boys of Summer Artist in Action!

Calling all New York City Manga Enthusiasts!

Phenomenally talented manga-ka, Hiroki Otsuka, is participating in a series of live-drawing events at the Japan Society of New York from March 12th to June 13th, in addition to leading a set of manga-making workshops. While he has more recently moved into the realm of fine art, Hiroki was the artist for TOKYOPOP’s Boys of Summermanga, which is a terrific series for those who like their stories heartfelt and more than a little ecchi. Getting to watch him work in person would be a real treat.  So if you were ever curious about how manga is made, now you can go see it for yourself!

This event is happening in conjunction with the Japan Society’s Graphic Heroes, Magic Monsters exhibit, which also promised to be very much worth checking out. If you’ve never been to the Japan Society, they tend to run really interesting shows, but this one in particular should appeal to manga fans of all stripes!

If you get a chance to attend, report back and tell us all about it! (I only wish I could make it to New York this summer to see it for myself!)
